About The Engineer

The Engineer intricately incorporates his firsthand encounters in the rave scene into his DJ sets, viewing it as both his responsibility to educate and entertain his audience. His diligent efforts in sourcing and selecting tracks for his BUDDHA BEATS podcast have propelled him to the Top 100 on Mixcloud and the Top 10 on Techno Live Sets within the techno genre. Adhering strictly to his personal rule of never repeating a mix, The Engineer stands as one of Philadelphia's most distinctive DJs.

The Engineer plays techno primarily because he believes it's about the atmosphere, the groove, and the repetitive nature that collectively create its hypnotic allure. He views it as a genre that can be as emotional as a movie soundtrack, as rhythmically infectious as house, as euphoric as trance, as electric as acid, as ethereal as ambient, and as robustly dark as industrial. For him, techno encompasses all of these elements. DJ sets have the power to leave an indelible mark on the listener's memory, but The Engineer feels that a techno set can pull the listener to the dance floor to get lost amongst the notes can transcend mere music, and become the very soundtrack to life itself.

The Engineer not only DJs but also crafts his own music, creating ethereal moments of bliss and evoking the shadowy recesses reminiscent of the warehouses from his earliest rave days. His tracks have garnered recognition from respected labels like Nothing But, LW Recordings, The Seed, and Marco Piangiamore’s SKYNET imprint in Italy. In a bid to sustain this creative drive, he established his own imprint, Daibutsu Music, boasting an extensive catalog of over 100 tracks, including four full-length albums. This attests to the distinctiveness, personal touch, and versatile nature of each release.

The Engineer's presence on the dance floor is unmistakable, as he wholeheartedly joins the crowd in dancing and supports fellow DJs before and after his sets, embodying the true spirit of a dedicated raver. Grateful for the love he received from the Philadelphia scene during his formative years, he's been privileged to command the decks at iconic venues like Fluid, Silk City, and Motion in Philly, as well as Mumak, Club Viva!, Bar Amsterdam, and a Sunset Set at Aperture Terrace in Ibiza, Spain. Add doing a VJ set for an official Movement afterparty in Detroit, and this just scratches the surface as to The Engineer’s creativity for the global dance music scene.

This commitment to uniting people through dance is palpable in The Engineer's unwavering work ethic. He fervently believes that music is the universal language we all share, a sentiment that resonates deeply with him. Rest assured, The Engineer's sonic journey will continue to captivate audiences for years to come.
